p.ensieve.org
- What's that name?
- In the
Harry Potter
-novels Dumbledore uses a magical device called pensieve
to store thoughts and visualize the connections between them.
- And?
- p.ensieve will do largely the same, just without magic.
- Meaning?
- It's yet another semantic network. With one big difference though: Instead of ordinary graphs, p.ensieve uses a less constrained superset of that structure making it easier to express complex phrases like
Tom met his friend Jerry at noon on the marketplace
without the need for special reasoners as RDF does.
- And the punchline?
- It approaches the semantic web data retrieval problem using a decentralized
file graph-sharing network. Users may submit and annotate data without having to trust third parties. No instance is able to prevent linkage between or commentary on any data in the network. Data may not be deleted (but instead copied many times) by design, preventing data-loss and censorship. Anonymous or signed usage is possible.
- Current status?
- Barely usable and under heavvy development. Everything will be released as soon as some stability is reached.
